In August I went with my friends, Edward and Jasper, to the Sunflower Festival. Now I am writing about this very late (and the field is closed for the season sadly, but hopefully these photos will inspire you to go next year or something!).

Getting there from Vancouver, is very easy. The drive is a little long but with a coffee, good music and company it feels short. We went in the morning to avoid the car and people traffic when we got to the place for the most optimal picture taking moments (and not having to photoshop people out or anything). I suggest you buy your tickets online to save a little money! Don’t worry about parking, there was lots and it’s free.

Here’s me jumping really high, just kidding (did I fool you?). There is a bench cropped out from the photo. For reference I am 5’4 and these sunflower are really really tall! They do have random benches and bridges in the fields so short people like me can also see above the flowers!

I really liked the little props they had randomly dispersed in the field. Like this bike for instance! We also saw a little windmill set up, big shoes (like seriously big) and a flower stand! In the front, before the sunflowers, are also little games set up for kids or “kids” because everyone is a child at heart. You could also go corn picking and I have regrets for not picking any, but there is next year and I am determined to come back with corn.

Here is a classic photo of me being the child I am. As you can see, I’m very hard at work Naruto running into this field of flowers like a boss, or should I say hokage. Thus, completing my goal of running into a field. But seriously, this field was created for awesome photo taking times. The flowers were planted so they curve a little instead of in rows so there’s more flower in the background of the photo.

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed reading and looking at these photos. Maybe now you’ll want to go next year? Writing about this has most definitely made me relive this moment and it was beautiful. I wish I could also share Japer’s photos but I was having such a hard time uploading them?!?! So I’ll save them for another time.

As always, thanks for reading. – MI
